2 euro bike ferry across the Danube

It took all of 5 minutes 

Sometimes we just look like nerds, but happy nerds :)

The bike ferry zipped back and forth 5 times while we were watching with all the holiday weekend bikers.

A humid, almost warm afternoon

We are eating like kings for less than 10 euros a day.

Spaghetti! 

A gorgeous morning! And it was not that cold last night in the tent. The weather seems to be turning for the better.

All day yesterday we tried to dodge clouds of inchworms dangling from trees but sometimes they were invisible. We ended up picking off the little critters from our helmets, clothing, panniers, necks, and even in our ears for hours afterward.

We've also both deeply inhaled bugs at different times.  I hacked for an hour afterward, nearly vomiting numerous times. I was surprised at how much liquid the lugs produce when trying to expel something. No biting bugs yet though - hooray!

This is by far the most popular section. We've seen lots of people with panniers, mostly doing the Passau to Vienna section. Lots of couples take babies and children. One couple had 2 crying babies in a trailer behind a fully loaded tandem. 

Such a peaceful night in the tent next to the river with the wind moving through Cottonwood trees. Occasionally a barge would go by with lights illuminating our blue tent. Cats fought briefly, but it was the quietest night so far, all in all. Gorgeous scenery in this Austrian section!
