Gunsburg to Donauworth to Ingolstadt to Bad Abboch to Regensburg

Sometimes it is difficult to tell whether we are are smelling ourselves or these flowering fields of Raab (for rape seed oil we found out) - kind of an over cooked broccoli essence.
A snowman topiary with a belt made of Easter eggs
German kitties are so outgoing! This one was trying to find a way through the fence to say hello.
We thought a lot about WWII this day and how it might have felt in this small farm villages. People freely talk about how bad Hitler was. Forgot to mention that we slept under a WWII issue rifle at our host's house in Ulm. The grandfather had buried it in the ground when the allies arrived and it showed the deterioration of being in the wet earth for several years.
The cycle way has many options, either through towns, in the forest, or up on the dike overlooking the Danube. The dike gets monotonous after a while because it is straight and all you see is brown (not blue) water and ducks, coots, geese (one tried to nip Scott), and swans. Over half the way has been on dirt roads or paths.
Camp breakfast - hot muesli, strawberries (79 cents for a quart!), and erdnuss (peanuts).
Escargot anyone? These guys are everywhere and we have to pay attention to not run any over.
Just going however far has felt right has brought us quite a ways further than we thought. We may have to take another little excursion somewhere before Vienna.  I've really worked on just seeing what each day brings rather than micro-planning. I still don't like not knowing where we will sleep at the end of the day.
We were overrun by 35 French students on their way to Prague. For the rest of the day, people urged me to schnell (hurry) because they thought I had lost group (I have the same neon vest).
A warm afternoon - a rarity so far
We saw 3 other bike tourists for the first time.

Spargel! (White asparagus). Eastern European migrant workers pull back the black plastic to find anemic white stalks - an Easter delicacy. I had a nice conversation with this man which mostly entailed me saying "Spargel! Gut!"
Caves in the limestone cliffs next to the Danube - one had a mommy goat and her 2 kids hanging out inside.
Expensive but yummy sausages and black beer at a thousand year old establishment. We sat down and ate 11 little rye buns from a basket, we were so hungry, but we found out later why everyone else's baskets were untouched. Each tiny bun cost nearly a euro! Tourist trap.
Flowers! They smelled so good.
Today we walk around Regensburg and go into the old churches and museums.
I want to look stylish like all the fancy Europeans, but I am stuck with my 3 ziplock bags of practical and visible bike clothes. These hats cost as much as 300 euros a piece!
Going up in these towers today.
