But it was a pretty smooth trip nevertheless, except for the usual indignities of airline travel these days.
The flight from Lima to Cusco was stunning, with the jagged Andes poking out of the clouds.
Our big A-320 landed smack dab in the middle of Cusco at a very tiny airport, the first of many things which reminded me of Nepal today.
We immediately set out on a long walk. Nice stray dogs are everywhere, and they seem to be fed (maybe not in Cusco though).
The food is outstanding - the menu deal dia is a great value with three courses for 5 or so dollars.
Cemetery where people leave bottles of beer for their deceased loved ones, with the top just cracked open a little.
Local markets must be avoided until later in the trip - don't want to cart around stuff. Love these dyes.
