Balloon Launch and MAAG

This is the BLAST (balloon bourne large aperature submillimeter telescope - looking at star formation) payload. It looks like a spaceship, doesn't it? Scott is able to be around some pretty cool science out at LDB.

The payload being taken out for the launch. The vehicle this is on is another version of the Deltas I drive.
Click to enlarge! A balloon launch. Scott has worked three weeks straight without a day off because of on-again, off-again launches. Phew!

The old power plant they are tearing down, halfway up Ob Hill.

The empty skeleton building has such atmosphere. It would be so fun for barn dancing or something :)

Heading to MAAG (McMurdo Alternative Art Show) through whale-bone-like arches made from old Jamesways.
There were art things inside and outside to play with and look at. So much creativity here!

Dad, I bet this sign was here back in the sixties. Look familiar?

Somebody built a little ship!
