Scary Monsters!

Kings of pop!
X-men!
Hanging out with Carmen Sandiego (AKA Marika from shuttles, a theater person from Chicago with a lovely voice and an interesting Belgian heritage).
Ildy, the hairdresser, Tom, a sheet metal fabricator, and Kelly, a coworker from shuttles who is working on her doctorate in Medieval studies.
Mel, the winterover site manager for the South Pole with Scott looking a little too much like MJ here). Good buddies.
Elizabeth and Ben, please don't disown us ;)
Beeker on the left went around incognito for a while until Scoot peeked in his mouth and found his boss, Cara! She made the costume out of an old sleeping mat and paper cups. The rest of us are from shuttles.
My boss, Kris, with a costume she handmade and Brandon, a former Shuttles person, now in cargo.
Stilts!
Kris, with Scotty in the background, primping.
A meeting of art and science.
We froze our buns off running down to the big gym. This is the only time skin is ever exposed down here.
Unless of course, you are being subversive and standing nude at the South Pole. Those who actually ran around the South Pole naked last year were chastised (so this is an inside joke of sorts), although the Polar Plunge at Scott Base isn't sanctioned and we don't get in trouble for jumping through the ice naked. That's because we are technically on Kiwi territory for the plunge.
More zaniness - I believe these are the scientists who are working on mini-submersibles (ROVs).
Jim, an accountant in a former life, if you can believe, now polishing his rock star image in order to attempt to reform the band Poison. Also a shuttle driver (which of course immediately makes him a rock star).
Freaky folks - no idea who is underneath those costumes.
Cara - and no, there was nothing in that beaker.
Breezy, a salsa dancer, and another new shuttle driver. She carried an iron bar to fend off admirers.
Another inside McMurdo joke. Folks got canned last year for doing just this without a permit.

The Halloween party was a blast, but we didn't get too crazy. Back home fairly early because today I had my final exam for my Masters degree. I am now officially done! What a great feeling.

Haha wow! My parents, that go to bed every night at 9 had a crazier Halloween than me! Good job! Looks like SO much fun. I like the Tanya Harding costume, and you guys look amazing. Is it just me, or does one of the South Pole nudes have blue pubes??
LOVE YOU!
